Summary of decisions and important information discussed during the meeting.
At Lieber, we had about 65-75 men attending weekly worship services. We started with prayer, singing and bible study. After services, we used the remaining time to have personal conversations with the men, prayer, and the heart’s sharing. This personal contact let the men know we wanted to be there to share the love of Christ. After a few years, this grew to a full church service where occasionally an inmate Elder provided the sermon. The Freedom Through Christ Seventh-day Adventist Church within Lieber Correctional Institution was soon after established. Very organized with people providing a full worship service with people teaching the Sabbath lesson. Half of the men from this ministry were transferred to other prisons where they were able to share this message.
We were unable to visit the prison for the last few months due to the COVID lockdown. Many new men have entered the facility that we regularly visited. The men that we’ve shared Christ with have become witnesses themselves of the love of Christ. God has raised many leaders that have not been leaders.
We go into the prison to bless the inmates, but in return, we receive an unexpected blessing as well.

Prayer and Fasting on Thursdays from 7 PM to Friday at 6 PM for the Lord to help us re-enter the prisons. Volunteer hours have been cut, we pray that this works out.
Your Ministry has touched my life and I am so grateful for God using you all in my life. I pray that God continues to use and bless The Reach Out and Touch Prison Ministry as you all continue to do His Will. You all truly made my birthday special; only the love of Jesus could do that. Thank you. God Bless you all.
I’ll be going home in a couple of weeks! Praise God! My release date is May 19th. I’d like to finish this program from home. I’d like to thank you and your ministry for the support, prayers and my beautiful Bible which I will use and cherish. Thank you so much! I’ve learned so much from the program. I’m grateful to my friend Barbara for introducing it to me. I will continue to read His Word as part of my daily living. Thank you again and I look forward to Lesson 11 from home. God Bless You.
It takes a special kind of someone to show interest in, and then take interest in another life; all the while living their own. You, my friend, are someone special. I pray that God continues to bless you and yours mightily and abundantly. I admire your love and passion for the Lord. You inspire me to be the man of God he created me to be. The ROTPM team as a whole is very instrumental in my Christian walk as well as several other men I know. I am sure there are many more as well. Thank you.
It is our desire and mission to recruit and train interested volunteers. One of our last major training sessions was in the Columbia area with Chaplain Danny McManus. Our primary method of generating interest in prison ministry is speaking in local churches. We also take the opportunity to spread the word at Camp Meeting.
Our focus is assisting and mentoring released inmates as we are able. Some church members write to inmates, and some of the inmates are taking Bible studies through the mail. We are always thrilled when someone decides for Christ.
We also make it a point to connect with the chaplains and volunteers from prison ministries sponsored by other denominations.
